Lake George Area Wineries, Breweries & Distilleries

From a year-round tasting room located in the heart of Lake George Village to a brewpub in Bolton Landing, the Southern Adirondacks has become a destination for wine and craft beer lovers. The area has become so popular, in fact, that the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce established the Adirondack Craft Beverage Trail in 2014 to celebrate the growing network of craft beer and spirit makers from Saratoga Springs NY to the High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains.

After a long day of hiking, fishing, skiing or even house hunting in the Adirondacks, kick back and relax with a glass of the Lake George area’s best wine, beer and spirits at one of these hot spots.

Bolton Landing Brewing Company

If you’re a fan of locally-made craft beers, you’ll want to check out the Bolton Landing Brewing Company. Located on Lake Shore Drive, across from Rogers Park in Bolton Landing, the brewery features a bar and dining area, as well as an outdoor patio. The year-round menu includes a seasonal selection of 6+ craft beers and light pub fare.

Adirondack Winery

For handcrafted, award-winning wines, stop by the Adirondack Winery tasting room in Bolton Landing, or visit their original location on Canada Street in Lake George Village. Enjoy year-round wine tasting sessions and more than 20 wine varieties ranging from dry reds to fruit infused sweet wines, as well as locally produced artisan cheeses, crackers, chocolate, fine foods and other wine related gifts.

Adirondack Pub & Brewery

Just south of Lake George Village on Route 9, the Adirondack Pub & Brewery brews more than 25 all-natural, non-pasteurized craft ales on-site. The brewery’s “cabin-inspired” pub is open for lunch and dinner all year, and features an extensive menu, as well as outdoor deck and patio seating. You can also tour the brewery on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year, and on Tuesdays during the summer.

Lake George Distilling Company

Founded in 2012, the Lake George Distilling Company makes handcrafted spirits in Fort Ann, NY and has a tasting room and store on Canada Street in Lake George Village. All of their small-batch moonshines, whiskeys, bourbons and rye are made from 100% New York State grains and the best locally sourced ingredients, and many of the distilling products’ names are inspired by the Lake George Region.

There’s More to Explore in the Southern Adirondacks

If you head a little further south to the foothills of the Adirondacks, you’ll find more breweries in Glens Falls NY, including Mean Max Brew Works, Davidson Brothers Brewing Company, Cooper’s Cave Ale Company and Common Roots Brewing Company in South Glens Falls. For more local wine tasting, check out Ledge Rock Hill Winery in Corinth.

Whether you’re blazing the craft beverage trail, or house hunting in the Lake George area, late summer is a beautiful time to visit the Southern Adirondacks. In fact, August is a great time to check out some open houses or schedule a private home tour as the busy tourist season winds to a close.
