There’s a reason that people return summer after summer, often generation after generation, to Bolton Landing NY. For some, its nostalgia, and the fact that the Adirondacks still provide an escape that’s reminiscent of an earlier, less hurried time. But for many, it’s that irresistible draw of lake life. Sun-warmed docks, water sports, fishing, and, of course, our beaches – sandy shorelines, panoramic Adirondack mountain views and crystal clear waters so clean they qualify as drinking water. It’s the reason I moved here myself!
With more accessible lake frontage than any other community on Lake George, Bolton Landing is a favorite among beach-goers. Whether you’re planning a trip to the region, or looking to make Bolton Landing your permanent vacation home, here’s everything you need to know about our beautiful beaches.
Rogers Memorial Park Beach
Located on Route 9N (Main Street/Lakeshore Drive) approximately 10 miles north of the Village of Lake George, the sandy beach at Rogers Memorial Park is open to the public from 7am to 11pm every day during the summer. There are lifeguards on duty 10am to 5pm daily, and the swimming area is roped off to designate shallow and deeper waters. Amenities include tennis and basketball courts, picnic tables and grills, a playground, pavilion and restrooms.
While there is a parking fee of $5, there is no entrance fee, so visitors are welcome to find free parking in town and walk to the beach. For those who prefer to travel by boat, docks are available free of charge.
Veteran’s Memorial Park Beach
Just a half-mile north of Rogers Memorial Park on Route 9N (Main Street/Lakeshore Drive), Veteran’s Memorial Park is also open to the public from 7am to 11pm every day during the summer. There is a sandy beach and a designated swimming area with lifeguards on duty from 10am to 5pm daily, as well as picnic tables and grills, a pavilion, playground, basketball court and restroom facilities.
Parking costs $5.00 per vehicle and boats are welcome to use the docks free of charge.
