A home purchase of any size is a huge decision. It impacts you and your family in so many ways. So feeling comfortable through the home buying process can make a world of difference in ultimately knowing that you have made the right decision.
That’s one of the reasons one of my goals is to make your home buying experience as easy and stress free as possible. If you have any questions you can always feel comfortable calling or emailing me. I’m happy to provide any information or guidance I am able to, as quickly as possible.
Many home buyers become uneasy when talking about what to offer or agree upon when it comes to the home buying process. A big reason why this happens is because no one wants to overpay for a property. You want to feel as if you are getting a deal, or at least getting fair market value, during the transaction. Unfortunately there is no perfect solution to making sure of this, but there are a few tips and things to consider that may help you feel better as you search for a new home.
- Have a plan from the start. Know how much you and your family not only can afford, but can afford while maintaining a lifestyle that you want.
- A good idea is to take a look at comparable homes that have recently sold. What did they sell for? How long were they on the market for? This could give you a baseline for what to expect with homes that you intend to look at.
- Also look at comparable homes that are on the market today. Keep tabs on if there prices change and how long they take to sell.
- No matter what price you decide to offer or agree upon for a house, you have to feel good with the numbers. If there’s a house that everyone else likes but you don’t, there’s no price you should feel comfortable offering. But if there is a home that is perfect for you and your family, even if there are flaws that others see, you may be willing to pay more than anyone else (so long as it doesn’t go over the amount you came up with in item #1 above).
